Can anyone say Rachel-I-got-it-together-Bilsen? She is rockin' the fab in all of her outfits. I don't think I have been disappointed with any of her outfits just yet....and if you really take a closer look they are so simple to put together. I know some of you may be saying "Yea, if I had a size 2 waist!" But you can also make it work for you. Check out the first picture where she is wearing the over-sized, or what I like to call the one-size fits all dress...what makes that outfit? It's all about the purse. You can throw on one of those one-size fits all in any color, hot red, pink, black, blue and add on a big tote and you are rockin'. If you feel uncomfortable showing your legs, a long cotton halter dress works just as fine. The key is the big purse and the thong sandals....no not those clunky-monkey sandals, with the thick sole or the 1/2 inch rubber heel...it's all about the flat, sleek sandal now-a-days. Just make sure to get those toes in shape, because those sandals bring out the best in your feet. Cool nail polish for this summer season are hot pinks, pale pinks, almost white, hot yellows and oranges....try to match the color with your skin tone.
Check out the last picture-perfect Bilson. Those shoes are smokin' hot! And, Bilson knows how to work with what she's got. She is really petite, so she paired those short-shorts with heels to elongate her legs...at the same time she didn't wear them Sir Mix A Lot dasiy-duke short, which kept the outfit classy, simple and most of all rockin'! What is the first thing you notice from that outfit? My eyes wander to the contrast in color between the dark denim wash and the camel colored shoes. It's a nice earthy-tone contrast that keeps the focus on both her sexy legs and the shoes. You can create that same look, with either short-shorts, knee-length shorts or even jeans. Tall women fair better with longer shorts, since they usually have longer legs...shorter girls add an umph' to their legs with the short-jean look. Also, if you have an old pair of jeans, snip em'! There is nothing sexier than cut-off shorts, just make sure to cut in a STRAIGHT line and off the excess frays...
What is about her outfits that make her shine? It's the fact that it looks like she woke up and threw on the first thing she saw without making any effort, yet somehow it managed to come together beautifully. Bilson also projects a sense of self in all of her outfits. What do her outfits scream to you? Can you get a sense for what Bilson might be like from her outfits? To me she projects an easy-going, bohemian, yet sophisticated kinda gal. What do you think?
Remember you can make any outfit stylish, yet your own...
Signing off,
Fashion Soul.
