What is this all about?

Inner Clothes It what? Some of you may be puzzled by the name, but it has a purpose, I promise. I want to start by taking you back in time...when was the first time you could remember dressing yourself? Why did you pick that outfit? I remember being 5 and picking these purple sneakers with rainbow shoelaces and a white and blue jumpsuit. Yes, it was the 80's. I recall feeling so proud in kindergarten that day because of my outfit (or the shoelaces)...ever since then I was all about the meaning of clothes and using it as a vehicle of expression. It may sound like a bizarre concept but, if you really think about it, it represents a big piece of who you are. I mean, I made some statements in middle school when I was a bit goth, wearing all black outfits every single day of the week, but it represented who I was during that period of my life.

We choose our outfits with a purpose, whether you realize it or not. Even when you walk out of your house in your sweatpants and t-shirt, your outfit is meaningful, even though it may just be for comfort. How many of you have been sad and gone out in the most unflattering outfit you own, because you just don't care? At the same time, how many times have you been feeling "sexy" and work the hottest thing you own? What are some responses you receive?

So what am I getting at? I want to help you project your inner beauty out into the world. I see a lot of beautiful people walking around, who lack confidence in themselves and hide behind their clothes, as if it were mask, because they are intimidated by their own potential. Anyone can feel fabulous with a little help in the style department, and once you feel fabulous, you'll project it! So with that being said....I want to help you achieve that fab sense of self. I'd like to hear some of your clothing experiences, questions, suggestions, and most importantly what they mean to you... I will be adding more content soon with latest trends, styles for all shapes and sizes, affordable style, dressing for all occasions, empowerment through clothes, and inner beauty motivation. I will also share the motivational pieces that I find valuable with you. Finally, my website www.innerclothesit.com is also in the works so stay tuned...

I look forward to experiencing your inner beauty...

Hi Sash! Let me start off by thanking you for creating such a great blog! I really enjoy what you are doing here. I agree 100% with your philosophy on fashion. As Ive grown up and 'trying to fit in' was replaced with my own sense of style I began to see how much clothes can reflect someone's inner moods. I remember fondly how I would actually dress UP for important days at school or examinations to feel better about what I was going into rather than dressing down. Through my experiences traveling the world Ive also seen how culture can impact fashion and all the great trends that exist across the globe. I think your blog is a great venue for communicating your fashion ideas. I wish you well and look forward to reading more!

Hi Af, Thank you for your comment! :) I really appreciate it. In regards to dressing up to feel better about yourself, I totally understand, and the fact the society has marked certain outfits as "feel good outfits." For example, why is it a rule to wear a suit to an interview? Who coined the term "professional attire?" It's amazing how the mind, the eye and fashion are intertwined. It would be great if you can post some outfits from your travels that you have seen; particularly from Cuba ;)
